Feminist historians (United Kingdom)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The UK has a vibrant history of feminist historical writing, especially post-WWII.

From the 1960s onwards, a substantial and important group of feminists on the Left challenged the legacy of the Communist Party Historians Group and the perceived neglect of women and feminism contemporary leftist history-writing.

Influential figures included Sally Alexander, Leonore Davidoff, Catherine Hall and Barbara Taylor.
