[edit] Wikipedians

Gwernol, how do Wikipedians, such as you, TheHalford, Gonzerelli, PenrithGuy, EdJogg and BoCodiseasel, know me? Felix Cheng 23:01, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

I don't know I really understand what you are asking, and I can't speak for any other person but myself. I only know you through Wikipedia and your edits here. Why do you ask? Gwernol 21:38, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

Well, everyone on Wikipedia knows my name, of course. Felix Cheng 21:41, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

Felix, have you been editing again while logged out of your account? Gwernol 21:45, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

I just want to know how does everyone on Wikipedia know me. Felix Cheng 21:46, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

We know you because we see your edits. Now, answer my question. Have you been editing while logged out? Gwernol 21:47, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

I dunno. Felix Cheng 21:47, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

What do you mean you don't know? You either have or you haven't. You must know. Please be honest here. Gwernol 21:49, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

No. I think it's the answer. Felix Cheng 21:49, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

Then any idea who made this edit to the Christopher Awdry article? I can't image anyone but you would add your fan fiction to that article. Gwernol 21:52, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

I think it's a different account. Felix Cheng 21:54, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

I don't think I do that. Felix Cheng 21:58, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

What do you mean you dont think you would do that either you have done it or not or do you have an evil twin who contributes on here as well? By the way I have reverted the changes that you or someone else made to Minor characters in The Railway Series Penrithguy 22:07, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

Well, I have been blocked from editing, right? So I didn't make these edits. Felix Cheng 22:08, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

User:FelixCheng has been blocked but you can always edit anomynously without a user name - you have before. I see your finally using the four tildes to sign your name instead of typing it out all the time Penrithguy 22:12, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

Is my block finished? Felix Cheng 14:19, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

You can find out for yourself. Tryo to make a small edit to the sandbox. if you can edit that page you are no longer blocked. Gwernol 14:37, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

I see Sodor Island Forums had produced a number of music videos. Can the members of the Sodor Island Forums produce more music videos? (This time, copying some parts of the songs to extend it to about half an hour (30 minutes) or so. That way I could hear the music longer.) Felix Cheng 17:12, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

Felix, listen - not every member of SIF is a member here. In fact, very few SIF-ers are members here. So really, if you want to request a music video or something, join the Sodor Island Forums and ask there. Plus, a 30 minute video would be hard, considering I don't know of any 30 minute songs, plus it would take a very long time to download such a large video file. Patchmo 11:08, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

Well, songs lasts about 3 minutes, right? Felix Cheng 14:18, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

My block's finished. Felix Cheng 19:55, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

Your block may be over but have you learnt your lesson and will you stop living in fantasyland?
Hooray! Now be good.! Feel free to contact me via my talkpage if you feel you need any help or guidance.Arce 21:55, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Archiving

Felix, I've archived your talk page for you. The old contents are now in archive 1. New comments should continue to go at the bottom of your talk page. Once this page gets long again, create Archive 2 and cut and paste this talk page into there etc. Gwernol 02:30, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Administrator

Is Request for Adminship the way people became administrators? Felix Cheng 14:18, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Yes, but as you were advised multiple times before you have almost no chance of becoming an admin. If you insist on trying, please read and follow the instructions very carefully before nominating yourself. Gwernol 14:21, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
Okay, I've read guides about being an admin. Felix Cheng 14:31, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Felix, clearly you did not read the guide, since I see you just tried to nominate yourself for adminship and got it wrong. Please read WP:GRFA and follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship/nominate to actually nominate yourself. I have removed your previous attempt to nominate yourself. Gwernol 23:06, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Your RfA has been removed again by a different administrator since it is still malformed, the answers to your questions are incorrect and too short and there is no chance you will be supported with such a low edit count. I plead with you not to reapply, the only possible outcome is you will be opposed by many experienced editors. Gwernol 00:07, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

Okay, I'm largely unsure how to become an admin. Felix Cheng 21:46, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

Are you asking what technically you need to do to complete your RfA which is currently not being considered? Or are you asking how you could become a successful admin candidate in the future? Gwernol 21:48, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ojamajo DoReMi

So all information about characters in Ojamajo Doremi existed in the page: List of characters from Ojamajo Doremi and is it why the characters do not need separate articles? Felix Cheng 14:52, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Basically yes, that's right. If there was 4-5 paragraphs of useful information to write about each character it might make sense to create separate articles. As far as I can tell there isn't close to that much encyclopedic information worth writing about them. Gwernol 15:09, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

So in 4Kids Entertainment, I see that the characters were given English names:

  • Doremi Harukaze - Dorie Goodwyn
  • Hazuki Fujiwara - Reanne Griffith
  • Aiko Seno - Mirabelle Haywood
  • Poppu Harukaze - Caitlyn Goodwyn
  • Onpu Segawa - Ellie Craft
  • Majorika - Patina

But what about Momoko Asuka, Hana-Chan and Non-Chan? Why haven't they been given English names? Felix Cheng 15:11, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Felxi, as I explained before I have no idea. Why don't you ask on the article's talk page instead of here. Editors who know about Ojamajo DoReMi discuss that subject on the article's talk page not here. Once you have asked once, you'll hopefully get an answer. if you don't like the answer don't go around asking it againa and again. Okay? Gwernol 15:20, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

I quite doubt Momoko, Hana and Non-Chan were given English names. Hmm. Quite controversially. In Mo~tto! Ojamajo Doremi (When Momoko was introduced) Hana seems to be modified. Felix Cheng 17:04, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] TUGS

Are you sure I uploaded the most TUGS images since Foxearth uploaded only the TUGS logo and the images of Big Mac with Sunshine, Ten Cents, Big Mac, OJ and Top Hat? Felix Cheng 15:23, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Why do you have to turn it into a competition? Uploading images isn't a race! Not that I actually care! Foxearth (logged out)

Well, it's been my pleasure adding pictures to tugs character pages: Warrior, Hercules, Sunshine, Zorran, Zebedee, Zak, Zug, Zip, Lillie Lightship, Izzy Gomez and Grampus, though. Felix Cheng 23:44, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] User:AmosWolfe

Amos E. Wolfe sure has good suggestions. Felix Cheng 15:43, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Jet Engine TTTE.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Jet Engine TTTE.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kevin_b_er 22:07, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Messages from Felix to Gwernol

Hi Gwernol. How are you doing? Felix Cheng 15:22, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

I'm fine thanks Felix. If you want to leave me a message, please do so at my talk page, not here. Gwernol 15:57, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your RfA

Felix, I assume you've given up on your RfA since you have not reposted it. is this correct? If so I'll go ahead and remove my opinion from it and close it out. Thanks, Gwernol 21:43, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

Okay, I'm very unsure. Felix Cheng 23:06, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

Okay, a simple question. Do you still want to apply to become an admin now? Yes or no? Gwernol 23:14, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

Yep. Felix Cheng 23:15, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

I still strongly recommend you don't do this, but if you want to, here's what you should do:

  1. Change the USERNAME in the opening header to FelixCheng
  2. Your nominating statement should only say "I would suggest to become an administrator for now. Felix Cheng 23:33, 31 August 2006 (UTC)". It currently says: "FelixCheng (talk • contribs) – FelixCheng Felix Cheng 23:09, 31 August 2006 (UTC) I would suggest to become an administrator for now. Felix Cheng 23:33, 31 August 2006 (UTC)".
  3. Chnage your nominating statement so its i n English - its incorrect right now.
  4. Accept your self-nomination by adding your signature after the text that says Candidate, please indicate acceptance of the nomination here:
  5. Write better answers to the standard questions. For example, for question 2, list the articles you are proud of.
  6. Change the ending date to seven days after you are ready to start the nomination
  7. Once you have completed this, then go the the WP:RFA page and add your nomination back to it. It was removed again and is currently not there.

Your nomination should end up looking something like this:

[edit] FelixCheng

Voice your opinion! Ending 23:09, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

I would suggest to become an administrator for now. Felix Cheng 23:33, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Candidate, please indicate acceptance of the nomination here: Felix Cheng 23:33, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Closing your Rfa

Felix, I'm shortly going to close your RfA. Although you bhave edited it, it still hasn't been included on the RfA page so remains sitting in limbo. Either submit the RfA or I will close it. Thanks, Gwernol 13:18, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

Okay, I'm largely confused and unsure how to become an administrator. Please help me. Felix Cheng 13:32, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

I gave you instructions above. Very clear and simple instructions. You followed them up to step 6, but didn't do step 7, so your RfA is still not listed on the page [{WP:RFA]]. Until its listed there it hasn't been submitted. If you want to list it there, you have to add:

{{Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship/FelixCheng}}

To the top of the list of RfAs. Gwernol 13:43, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Response to "Comment?"

Felix,

Thanks for addressing me directly on my Talk page. This is showing that you're understanding the better way to address people, rather than comments on your own Talk page.

In response to your question, I had added a brief comment on your User page quite some time ago (which was shortly deleted), because you had asserted that all your character creations were real characters from the TV Series Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends. My intention of adding this comment was for clarification, in case anyone read your User page and thought your character creations actually existed within the TV Series.

I'll spell this out a little further. Apart from the characters already in articles, such as Railway engines (Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends), NONE of the characters you list on your User page (and used to have "pictures" for) are actually characters from the TV Series, or the Railway Series. They do not exist, outside your own fan fiction and imagination. This includes the "Mountain Diesels", Grover, Joe, Joy & Nazz, Mojo, Zakkaz, Gladis, and all the rest of them. They're not real characters.

So that's why I had made the comment. Gonzerelli 02:35, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Why couldn't I upload my edited photos on Wikipedia? Felix Cheng 14:26, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
It is not the fact that you uploaded the images that I personally had a problem with. It is the fact that you asserted that your creations were real characters from the series, which is of course false. Gonzerelli 13:45, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] List of Railway Series Books - Added book cover images

Hi Felix.

Just wanted to say thanks for your adding of the images of these book covers. This is good work (not sure it quite qualifies for a Barnstar though!) and is exactly the sort of thing that your fellow WP:THOMAS project members have been hoping you'd be able to contribute. Keep up the good work.

It should be within the 'Fair Use' copyright for these images to be added to the appropriate character pages or group pages (eg Thomas, Gordon, Edward, etc) as was done for Wilbert and Duke, so that'll give you something else to do! You will need to be careful though as there must be a clear connection between the picture on the book cover and the places it is used.

Incidentally, do you have all of the books in the series, or just the ones you have added? (I have all but book 39, although some are in poor condition).

Kindest Regards, EdJogg 09:34, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

My pleasure. Felix Cheng 14:17, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

well done Felix Arce 19:02, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
But do you have the other books in the series? -- EdJogg 19:34, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Yep. I'll upload the rest after my Doremi series episodes 4 and 5. Felix Cheng 20:38, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your RfA

Felix, are you going to do anything with your RfA? If not, I'm going to close it. Gwernol 20:55, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

Since it has been a week since you last tried to add your RfA to the list, I have formally closed it. Thanks, Gwernol 20:34, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 30-minute music video

Why would it be too hard for Sodor Island Forums to extend music videos? I mean, I really want it to so I won't hear the song over and over since it lasts only about "3 minutes". Felix Cheng 13:39, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

Felis this has nothing to do with Wikipedia. If you want to ask questions about the Sodor Island Forums, join the forums and ask there. Stop waqsting your own time and everyone else's by asking here. You have already been given this advice, why are you asking again? This is exactly the sort of behavior that keeps getting you blocked. Stop it. Gwernol 13:43, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
Crickey, don't get your knickers in a twist Gwernol! You aren't seriously threatening to block someone for asking questions (however irrelevant) on his own talk page? He can ask what he wants and you can choose to answer or ignore him, end of story.Arce 20:17, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Question

Gwernol, I have a question. Felix Cheng 21:32, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

Put your question here Felix. Arce 22:04, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

Are Wikipedia and YouTube completely individual (as in separate) websites? Felix Cheng 22:18, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

Yes they are. Wikipedia is not in any way connected with YouTube, the Sodor Island Forums or any other similar website. Gwernol 22:25, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

So, Wikipedia was created in 2001 according to its article, right? Felix Cheng 22:31, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

Yes. Gwernol 22:33, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

Okay, back when Wikipedia was born, how many pages are there in this site (if including policies, guidelines and the User is blocked page)? Felix Cheng 22:34, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

Take a look at Wikipedia:Size_of_Wikipedia. Gwernol 22:36, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

Oh I get it. There were currently 1,377,957 pages in Wikipedia. Felix Cheng 22:38, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

There are about that many articles on Wikipedia today, yes. Gwernol 22:40, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

Does it include articles I created (such as Clive Spong, L&YR Class 28, G&SWR 'Austrian Goods' 2-6-0, GER Class D14/D15/D16 'Claud Hamilton' and Bagnall 0-4-0ST "Alfred" and "Judy"). Felix Cheng 22:42, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

Probably. Gwernol 22:44, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

So, are you sure I did a great job writing an article about Clive Spong? Felix Cheng 22:37, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Momoko

Why is Momoko a redirect page. Can I change it into a disambiguation page? 'Cause there is more than one Momoko out there. Felix Cheng 00:52, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

Why haven't you left messages on my talk page? Hello? Is anyone here? Felix Cheng 14:58, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

  • Because people probably have better things to do. If there's nothing to talk about on here, then people probably won't post anything. Patchmo 15:29, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Hello. Amos E. Wolfe sure had terrific suggestions. Felix Cheng 15:31, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

You are right. This should be a disambiguation page. Dekimasu 04:01, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

You are right, Nick. Felix Cheng 12:02, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Professional Writer

Gwernol, does a professional writer write biographies about characters? Does it include the names, numbers and color? For example, let's simply start off with Thomas the Tank Engine.

Name: Thomas Number: 1 Color: Blue

Felix Cheng 15:34, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Messages

Why hasn't anyone left messages on my talk page? Hello? Gwernol? Penrithguy? EdJogg? Gonzerelli? Patchmo? HonestTom? Duncharris? Where are you? Anyone? Felix Cheng 21:08, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

Felix, Wikipedia isnt a chat forum if you want that then join one such as Sodor Island Forums people will only send you messages in response to soemthing you have put on here or to give you advice and information about editing on wikipedia Penrithguy 21:22, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

I'm sorry Felix but you can not call your fan sites about the Culdee Fell and Arlesdale Railways Official Websites unless they have been approved the copyright holders of the Railway Series books whoever they may be these days most likely HIT Entertainment. So I would suggest removing the word official from these sites or could end up in trouble. Penrithguy 22:34, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] There's a lot to learn

Hey,

Not to sound all naggish or anything, but you clearly have a lot to learn about Wikipedia. If I were you, I would take a look at the following:

I hope you find these helpful, and you may gain some more experience reading these. Also, becoming an admin is good, but if I were you, I would take some time. I see you started editing as of July 2006 according to your edit count, and you only have about 2,000 edits. An RfA is probably not the best thing to do right now. Just take your time, read Wikipedia's guidelines, and if you keep up the good work, while making endless edits in a week, I bet you'll have a successful RfA. But just don't rush, Wikipedia keeps getting a lot of admins in a week, probably a day, and someday, you'll be one of them.

If you ever need help regarding Thomas-related situaions, contact me on my talk page. Remember, you're always welcome to contribute and help out on Wikipedia. --Imdanumber1 ( Talk | contribs) 18:57, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
