Felt Mountain is the title of Goldfrapp's debut album, released September 11, 2000 (see 2000 in music) in the United Kingdom. It was produced by Goldfrapp, and received a positive reception from music critics, with some comparing it to trip-hop band Portishead. The album, written and produced by Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory, features Alison's vocals, partly enhanced by synthesizers, set over a minimalistic, detached soundscape, influenced by styles as diverse as 1980s synth pop, classical film scores and traditional folk music. Felt Mountain was a minor commercial success, peaking at number fifty-seven on the UK Albums Chart.
