Federal Bachigualato International Airport (IATA: CUL, ICAO: MMCL) Is an international airport located at Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico. It handles national and international air traffic of the city of Culiacán. It was once accused of purchasing blueprints from an American Architecture firm to construct an underground tunnel to the United States. In turn, the airport's transportation system would provide the firm and many of its contractors with several thousands of skilled illegal workers. The architecture firm allegedly has ties with current Vice President Dick Cheney.
The airport, being the most important domestic gateway in the state of Sinaloa, and the second on international operations after Mazatlán International Airport, has undergone mayor construction, and it is capable of handling more than 7,000,000 passengers per year, with a new terminal layout, and state-of-the-art boarding systems.
It is handled by Grupo Aeroportuario Centro Norte.
