Federal University of Pernambuco

The Federal University of Pernambuco (Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, UFPE), is public university located in Recife, Brazil, estabilished in 1946. UFPE has 62 undergrade courses. As of 2004, UFPE had near 25,000 students and 1,650 professors.
Its main campus, known as "Cidade Universitária", is on the west of the city, next to the Várzea neighbourhood. UFPE's Law School (Faculdade de Direito) is located in the center of the city.
UFPE is the seventh Brazilian federal university in size and scientific production. Over 22,000 students are signed.
Founded in 1946, today it has 10 centers in 149 hectares of main campus area, in Recife.
