I just recently tried to organize the "Category:Fauna of the United States" category, not that I actually have a clue how it might end up looking. You will notice that I made the following:

Avifauna, the many lists, under a
Deserts, under d
Piscifauna of the recently created Fauna of Utah under p—Few inland states may have a Piscifauna. The Great Basin, playa states lend themselves to having some piscifauna.

I left the subdivisions of the U.S., (United States), under U, as only the state of Utah is a separate entity.

{I also put the individual items into Marmot, "ground squirrel", and "Squirrel", "anteope squirrel" ....)(Maybe the Gray Wolf could be put with its two other wolf entries ? )(The rest, are lizards, snakes, etc. ...--I think only certain things should be grouped.)
