From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The FATA or FC-ATA is a type of computer hard drive. FATA is simply the low cost version of Fiber Channel hard drive in conjunction with ATA - Advanced Technology Attachment mechanism instead of SCSI - Small Computer System Interface . FATA can be considered as slower and less reliable than full-blooded Fiber Channel hard drive although more reliable than desktop ATA drives and cost about half as much regular Fiber Channel drives per GB of capacity.
