Shadowing: Actual fish are overloaded with the concept of egoism. If you overextend the metaphor you might avoid to eat fish (an ethically less condemnable source of animal protein than beef or pork) so as not to be perceived as an egoist. [1]

[1] Which doesn't mean that there aren't types of fish which should be refused, for example to avoid dolphins as by-catch.
