Farmanieh
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Farmanieh is one of the districts located within the upper-class Shemiran district of Tehran, the capital of Iran.
The area used to belong to the home of Qajar Dynasty nobleman Abdol Hossein Mirza Farmanfarma. Over years the original estate was divided between family members and elements of it sold off to the larger public. Nevertheless, the name remained and it is now one of the premier and highly affluent locations within Tehran.
Farmanieh has a number of upscale shopping centers, including Kuh-e Noor, and it's skyscraper residential towers have become symbols of North Tehrani wealth.
Farmanieh means the locality or residence of commanders.
