[edit] Boundaries
The present boundaries date to 1932 when the parishes of Crofton, Hook with Warsash, Portchester, Sarisbury and Titchfield, all previously part of the Fareham Rural District were added to Fareham urban district.[2]
The western boundary of the borough, with the borough of Eastleigh is the River Hamble. To the north is the district of the City of Winchester, to the East is the City of Portmouth (a unitary authority) and to the south is the district of Gosport. The southwest and southeast edges of the borough are both part of the british coastline, boardering the Solent.
