Farah Karimi

Farah Karimi (Born 15 november 1960 Isfahan) is a Persian-Dutch writer, human right activist and politician. Karimi is currently a member of the Dutch Parliament from GroenLinks.

She has lived in The Netherlands since 1989. Farah Karimi writes in Rooz, a Persian-language online newspaper. She has helped significantly in promoting democracy and dialogue in Iran (Persia). Her most notable achievements were in supporting Rooz and Radio Zamaneh.

At present, she is spokesperson for Development Aid and European Affairs. In the Lower House, Farah Karimi is spokesperson for

  • European Affairs
  • Foreign Affairs (Africa, Surinam, Latin-America)

She has been a member of the Lower House since May 19, 1998.
