Talk:Fanny Blankers-Koen
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Why is the paragraph about the Hongerwinter relevant here, what specific influence had it on blankers-coen? Romanista 15:44, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
Does "athletics" mean "track and field"? 84.132.252.146 19:09, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
I deleted some vandalism about "Ol fanny pack became a nazi and shot jews" or something similar. I'm unfamiliar with the timestamp format, sorry.
- You can sign your name (or IP address if you're not logged in) and a timestamp by typing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comment. Thanks for helping with the vandalism! --Laura S 18:01, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Jewish heritage?
Just curious: was she of Jewish heritage somewhere back? (Just a thought upon seeing the name "Koen", which looks like a variant of Cohen.) --Saforrest 01:18, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
- Unlikely, as she was allowed to compete in occupied Europe during the war . I don't know for sure though. Lisiate 02:41, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
- Koen is a very common name in the Netherlands. I've never heard of it being associated with being Jewish. —Michiel Sikma, 05:47, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Picture
There are some good pictures in this article, but I'm kind of disappointed that this is a featured article without having a picture that clearly shows her face. She remains a little anonymous without one. Maybe someone could see to finding one of those pictures of her. —Michiel Sikma, 05:48, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
