[edit] Plot Synopsis

Jessie (Sean Connery) is a widower, a tough guy, and most of all, proud of his past as a career criminal (now semi-retired). He raised his son Vito (Dustin Hoffman) to follow in his footsteps, but Vito went straight when he had a son of his own, and over the years, Vito became ashamed of his family's criminal past. Vito has tried to raise his son right, and in his mind, that means keeping young Adam (Matthew Broderick) away from his ne'er-do-well grandfather. Little does Vito know that this strategy has backfired; the mystery surrounding Jessie has caused Adam to idolize Jessie. Now Adam is grown, bright, good-looking, and without a criminal past. So when Adam, on the cusp of what looks like a bright college career, approaches Jessie with a scheme for a burglary he's shocked, but not necessarily disinterested....because this is not just another criminal scheme, but a chance for three generations to embark on one great criminal adventure.
