Familia is a 2005 multi-award winning French language Canadian drama film. It was directed by written by Louise Archambault.

  • Michèle (Moreau) is an aerobics instructor with a gambling addiction. Her boyfriend soon finds out about her addiction, which she had lied about beating. Her boyfriend then threatens to freeze her assets so Michèle leaves, with her daughter (St. Sauveur), to go to Michèle's Mother's house. Here it is where we learn the reasons behind her addiction. They soon leave there and and arrive at Michèle's childhood friend Janine's (Grenon) home. Conflicting value systems between the free-spirited Michèle and the suburban Janine set the story for further tensions.
