The Fallen was a fictional character created by Marvel Comics for their series Mutant X. His loyalties were constantly shifting throughout the series, but he always remained self-seeking. In this alternate universe, the Fallen is the counterpart of Earth 616's Archangel.
[edit] Fictional character biography
In the main Marvel Universe the X-Man Havok attempted to stop his friend, Greystone from using a faulty time machine to return to his native timeline. However, the device exploded, killing both men...or so it seemed. Havok found himself transported to an alternate reality where he was the leader of a hero group called The Six, where he met alternate versions of his friends and family. One of his teammates was a differently mutated Warren Worthington III, who called himself the Fallen in this reality.
Like in the 616 universe, Warren had been captured and experimented on by Apocalypse, but instead of the metal wings that Havok knew, Warren had been given leathery bat wings, as well as the supplimentary ability to breathe fire. Because of the horrors he endured, he had become bitter, and often lashed out at his teammates, especially the child-like Brute. When Havok had a disagreement with Magneto and left with a contingent of people, Warren sided with him and was one of the founding members of the Six.
His allegiance was only temporary though, because when the Goblyn Queen came to power, Warren was the first one to willingly switch sides. Later, when they were defeated, Warren remained off of the team, siding once again with his lord Apocalypse as his Horseman.
Later, Warren returned and battled the Six over what do to with Professor X who was believed dead. The Horsemen wanted him dead, but Alex wanted to save him. After the teams collided, Professor X revealed himself to be a malevolent being who tried to kill both teams and steal two children in the Six's care: Alex's son Scotty and Gambit's daughter Raven. The Six had to ally themselves with Apocalypse and his Horsemen in order to defeat a deranged Professor X, and this did not sit well with them. However, they managed to stand each other long enough to accomplish their task.
He made one final appearance at the end of the series, when Dr. Strange summoned the Fallen, along with Xavier, Reed Richards, and others to help Alex prepare for his battle with the Beyonder.

Due to the genetic manipulations of Apocalypse, Warren's natural wings were changed into leathery bat wings. He retained his physical fitness—low bone density and near-zero percent body fat--and was granted pale skin, clawed fingers, and the ability to breathe fire. As a result of Apocalypse's genetic tampering, Warren possesses enhanced strength.
