[edit] Soul of the City
see that you removed this from the Cherryh page b/c it was not listed right.
I see that this title is now missing from both C. J. Cherryh and Thieves World. Since you know the book - can you get it listed properly? I couldn't find it on my bookshelf, so I can't help..... --Alvestrand 06:05, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks, of a sort.
I should just like to say that I'm enjoying our corroboration. That's all. Bo-Lingua 22:10, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Finisterre universe article
Thanks very much for the kudos. I'm busy re-reading the second book, so I might still add a little more. --Bruce1ee 15:03, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] So much to do, so little time
Hi, Fairsing. Appreciated your welcome. I was thinking of starting up the Gate of Ivrel books, if I can find the time to reread them. I was surprised nobody has done it yet; IMO they're among her best work. Trouble is, I'm still working on Anthony Trollope's many, many novels. And then there's Glen Cook's Black Company series. And classic old movies. Arghhh! Clarityfiend 21:11, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
Changed my mind. I've started Merchanter's Luck, with Rimrunners and Finity's End to follow. I made note of this in The Merchanter Novels and Alliance-Union universe. Hope that's all I need to do. Clarityfiend 07:34, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] New Cherryh articles
I see you've created a number of new C. J. Cherryh book series articles. Well done – they're looking good! Soon we'll have a comprehensive set of articles on her and her work. Have you read all her books? I've read quite a few, but certainly not all of them. --Bruce1ee 12:23, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Assessment of "link spam"
I'm not sure I agree that the external links provided for the Reichheld and NPS articles should be deemed "link spam". Did you perhaps have an itchy finger on the trigger? Thekohser 17:58, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
- After your lucid and thorough explanation, I'm quite honored to have been "corrected" by you! Thekohser 21:12, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Just ignore these kinds of trolls. Either they go away when they realize that nobody wants to play their little game, or they vandlize and article and are blocked. Either way, we don't waste our time, and they're gone. :) – ClockworkSoul 03:12, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Morgaine stories
Thanks for your comments, Fairsing. It's true I do have a CJC handle, though I have to admit it was chosen at short notice after Wikipedia had rejected my first 4-5 suggestions. I will enjoy looking over your Cherryh contributions at leisure, when I have some of that, and if I can see anything I can contribute, I will. I tend to make contributions on impulse when I have a few minutes to do so, and am currently rereading the Morgaine novels for first time in several years.Cenedi 09:26, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] NPOV Posting and Dungeon/Dragon References
Hey, thanks for noticing my additions and welcoming me to the Wikipedia community. You're right that I have a lot of information in my head and library that can add to the growing database of RPG info, and I look forward to contributing (as time allows).
I know a bit about the NPOV guidelines for the site and I don't want to do anything that would seem like shameless self-promotion. I did not (and will not, for that matter) post anything to my own Wikipedia stub or to the Dragon or Dungeon pages. Mostly I just added the "30 Greatest" bits because it gave me a framework for my first Wikipedia contribution.
Being editor of the magazines puts me in a somewhat difficult position. Material from the magazines is relavant to most D&D articles here, and all I did was mention the status of each of the top 30 modules (for those with existing stubs, that is). This, I think, is a legitimate addition to the articles, because it points out how influential game designers in the modern era view these adventures within the context of 30 years of hindsight. In an industry with precious little critical analysis at all, Dragon and Dungeon reviews are one time capsule through which to view public opinion on issues like this.
I guess I could have just posted a suggestion that someone else do that work, but I'm unclear if such a message would even be read, and like I said I had the free time and the resources to make it happen.
I don't anticipate updating much more on the magazines, and prefer to focus my efforts elsewhere, such as to obscure bits of Greyhawk and Great Wheel trivia.
Or, since I've written some of that, is my participation frowned upon there as well?
Just checking. I'm obviously very new to this and would love to contribute, but I don't want to give the impression that I'm self-promoting, and I really don't want to spend what I consider my free time fending off accusations of such. Any advice you can give along these lines would be most appreciated.

[edit] RPGNet
Just a quick note to say - thanks for your work pruning out the RPGNet links. It may be that they eventually get put back in, but you're right they shouldn't be put there by a site admin. If you're not already involved with WikiProject Role-playing games, I invite you to join. Percy Snoodle 15:47, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Excessive Cleaning of D&D Entries
Some well-meaning Wikipedian has just nominated the Erik Mona entry for deletion. Since you recently added entries for Robert J. Kuntz and Jim Ward, I thought you might be interested in contributing to the deletion discussion. For obvious reasons, I cannot particpate in the discussion.--Iquander 22:17, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Ent. 2
Hi Fairsing: I just posted a thought at the top of the Ent 2 AfD discussion. I hope we can harness this interest into making a good article about enterprise social software... at a different title until it has more structure. Then we can get back to figuring out what to call it. +sj + 00:01, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Greyhawk article targeted for deletion
Baklunish Basin has been proposed for deletion. If possible, please comment at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Baklunish Basin. Thanks. --Robbstrd 17:48, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use in portals
I created an amendment for fair use in portals, as well as submitted to village pump, see here: Wikipedia:Fair use/Amendment/Fair use images in portals#Also. It would be great if you could express your support there. ddcc 21:50, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Cherryh's Glass and Amber
No offense, but are you sure that "A Gift of Prophecy" was first published in Dutch? JD Lisa 19:09, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Dutch Glass and Amber
Thanks! It's on Cherryh's page that way too. Nice work finding the publisher's website. How very odd! I wonder if she did the translation herself? JD Lisa 03:17, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Foreigner universe = Alliance-Union universe?
Hi Fairsing, I know you and Bo-Lingua were engaged in this debate earlier this year. Well, if you haven't already seen it, it's resurfaced again here, along with a general discussion on the scope of the A-U. --Bruce1ee 05:38, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Interesting
Wondering why you tend to moderate people's stuff a lot...isn't it too much work? I know I should have messaged...but I'm too lazy. Bsilver 04:13, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
