Fairview Park Mall

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Fairview Park Mall, situated at 2960 Kingsway Drive, is the largest shopping mall in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. It is operated by Cadillac Fairview.

Fairview Park Mall opened in 1966, in the Parkway neighbourhood of the recently-expanded City of Kitchener, between Kingsway Drive, Wilson Avenue, Fairway Road, and Highway 8. The mall's presence over the years has turned Fairway Road into a major commercial strip.

The initial department-store anchors were Simpsons-Sears on the south end, Woolco on the east, and Robinson's on the west. In the time since, Simpsons-Sears has become simply Sears, Woolco has been replaced by Wal-Mart, and Robinson's became Simpson's, then later The Bay. A small Zehrs supermarket was formerly located facing Kingsway Drive; this moved to Weber Street and its space was redeveloped, partially into the current food court.

The mall is easily accessible from Highway 8 and Fairway Road, and is serviced by many Grand River Transit bus routes connecting to the surrounding areas of Kitchener and to Cambridge and Waterloo.
