[edit] Insigna source

Salam, here you go: http://www.uniforminsignia.net User:ArmanJan

[edit] Salut

Hi.

I personally have no problem putting the video clip file on Wikicommons. In fact I'll be all the more happy. It will take the load off my bandwidth.

I'm not sure however how should we treat the legality issues, if any: The video clip was made by the Public Relations office (daftar e ravabet e omumi) of Tehran University itself, specifically for the university's publicity. I think we can treat it as Public Domain. But I'm not sure if many people here on WP would agree.

Also, the file is 20 Megs in space. Will Wikicommons upload such a size?--Zereshk 09:17, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] L'Universite de Tehran

Salam,

I added some stuff and made some enhancements to the Tehran University article. You might want to check them out and use them in the French version, if you find them worthy.

Take care.--Zereshk 01:01, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

I'm also working on expanding and making templates for the universities listed on Category:Universities in Iran. So far, I have finished half of them.--Zereshk 18:54, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Translation request

Hi Fabienkhan! I hope you are fine :)

Would you please send a traslation request in French wikipedia for these pages ?

Many thanks. --Sangak15:44, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your copyright question to Zereshk

As you can see here, the paragraph you found was originally added to Wikipedia in this form: [1]. That's the exact same text as the external web page you found. The paragraph was later moved to the other article. However, the article claimed to be derived from a PD source. So rather than the WP version being a copyvio from the Iran Chamber Society page, it may in fact be that both of these are independent derivations from a common, legitimate, source. [edit] Improving diagrams

I wish to confirm that you have declined to touch up the two diagrams.--09:18, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Image:Schema gvt iran.png is very nice. Just produce its English counterpart. Furthermore, you don't need to give me credit.

If I should have further comments in the future, then I will reply on this talk page.--23:42, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Image:Schema gvt iran en.png looks excellent except one thing: Ahmad Jannati and other members of the Guardian Council control Majles not vice versa. Therefore, the tip of the arrow should go from GC and point to Majles.--08:28, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

  • Since GC is more powerful than Majles, I believe the arrow should be reversed. GC approves all Majles (1) bills and (2) candidates. Whereas, Majles only approves half candidates of GC.--10:35, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
  • By the way, what software do you use to create the diagrams?--10:39, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
2 arrows is fine. Image:Schema gvt iran en.png is now superb.

You already know that Help:Editing says, You should "sign" your comments on talk pages:
- Three tildes gives your user name: Patchouli
- Four tildes give your user name plus date/time: Patchouli 22:27, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
- Five tildes gives the date/time alone: 22:27, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
I used five tildes, but you can use the time to find me on your talk page's history. However, I don't follow a rubric for using 3, 4, or 4 tildes; mostly 4, though. Henceforth, I will use 4 on your talk page if I have additional comments.

Your assiduity is commendable. Thank you. --Patchouli 22:27, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Map of Achaemenid Empire

Saalam! Baba damet garm. I don't know how to thank you, but it's really great to see someone of french native contributing so much to Iran related article. C'est vraiment spéciale, et je veux te remercier.

You asked me to translate the map of Achaemenid Empire. I'll be glad to help but should I just send you the translated cities as a text like: (babylonie = babylonia) and you'll locate it on the map? I'll talk to Zereshk to see if he's done with the translation or if he needs any help.

Thanks again. Kheyli mamnoon. Merci beaucoup and good luck. Arad 02:40, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

And it's interesting for me to know, where did you learn all these things about Iran and how to talk Farsi? Thanks ;-) Arad 02:42, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Map of 1000 AD

For the silk road you can find the information you need in here: Silk Road and there is section in the article about the Persian Royal Road too. The map of 1000AD is interesting as it shows the Medieval Iran. Keep up the good work. Sorry i couldn't find some of the dynasty, not sure if it can help you a lot.

[edit] Salam!

[edit] Map_Iran_1900-en.png

Hey; I'm not sure if I've talked to you before about this subject. You've asked me to give my opinion about Map_Iran_1900-en.png. The Image is a great addition to Wikipedia, but it needs a little fix.

  • 1. It is clear enough in the map that which parts are gains and losses but I'll prefer it If you could mention exactly what color is the gains and what color is a loss.
  • 2. The red strips for losses are too thick and looks like a different country
  • 3. What is the FARS Losses and Gains means on the bottom?
  • 4. What does the blue "flèshes" means? the British attacks?
  • 5. Some dates (Obviously important events) are not explained in the legend.
  • 6. It's also a good idea to see the Russian Empire in the north (if that doesn't ruin the map)

Personally I like a the map a lot and I just wanted to make it perfect. And thanks again for all the effort you put on Iran related maps and articles. --Arad 03:43, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

I just wanted to thank you for choosing my photos as Images of two consecutive months. About the map, there is no worry, it's not an emergency anyway. Good Luck with Iran Portal. Arad 21:45, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] wikEd

The wikEdlogo

Hi, I have seen that you are using the Cacycle editor extension. This program is no longer actively maintained in favor of its much more powerful successor wikEd.

wikEd has all the functionality of the old editor plus: • syntax highlighting • nifty image buttons • more fixing buttons • paste formatted text from Word or web pages • convert the formatted text into wikicode • adjust the font size • and much, much more.

Switching to wikEd is easy, check the detailed installation description on its project homepage. Often it is as simple as changing every occurrence of editor.js into wikEd.js on your User:YourUsername/monobook.js page.

Hey, how's it going? The image that you've put on portail d'Iran is up for delisitng. Image:Hills south west of Sanandaj near the village of Kilaneh.jpg is up for delisting on FPC nomination page. [2] Please give us your opinion, or try to solve the problem the majority have with the picture. I think it deserves to stay FP. Thank you. And have a nice day. And before anyone tell this to you, Happy New Year in a month ;-) ;-) --Arad 19:53, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

  • And about the translation, I'll do it as fast as i can, but don't count on me. Some big exams coming. But i'll do my best. Khoda hafez --Arad 20:27, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
