Carel Fabritius A View of Delft, with a Musical Instrument Seller's Stall (1652)

This is one of Fabritius' paintings showing his interest in extreme perspective effects. It is possible that the picture formed part of a perspective box.

The writing on the wall by the shadow of the lute is the artist's signature - C. Fabritius, written in the perspective of the scene.


National Gallery claims copyright on the photo, but the original painting is out of copyright and the photo isn't an original work so
