Fabrice Muamba (born 6 April 1988 in Kinshasa) is an Anglo-Congolese footballer, who currently plays in midfield for Birmingham City on loan from Arsenal.

Muamba's family fled the Second Congo War and arrived in England in 1999 as asylum seekers (his father having already been granted asylum in 1994), settling in Walthamstow, London. Muamba impressed in school football and joined Arsenal as a youth signing full professional terms on July 1, 2004. He made his first team debut on October 25, 2005 in a Carling Cup tie against Sunderland. As a naturalised British citizen he is eligible to play for any of the Home Nations, and has represented England at U16, U17 and U19(Current Captain) levels. He has also been compared to the world class Senegalese/french midfielder Patrick Vieira.

In August 2006, Muamba was loaned out to Birmingham City, who currently play in the Football League Championship.
