Fablefactory
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Fablefactory is a band from Athens, GA, associated with the Elephant Six collective.
The band was formed in 1996, consisting of Johnson Clark (credited as Hank Wren), Roxanne Martin (Dixie Blood Mustache), and Dave Wrathgeber (Davey), with Chris Bishop joining the band prior to recording their first album. Their debut EP, Fowell Bird, was released in 1999 and received a warm review in Magnet Magazine. They then released their first album American Custard (featuring contributions from members of Of Montreal, Neutral Milk Hotel, and Elf Power). A number of tours followed that release.
After a couple singles, the band released their second album, Freak Out Hard On You. The band recorded this album and then split up, having the album released later in 2002. Some members of the band, however, did reconvene for a United States tour in the spring of 2003.
Wrathgeber also recorded under the moniker Visitations, which released a self-titled album on Happy Happy Birthday To Me Records in 2001 and self-released a follow-up, Propaganda, in 2004.
