F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X. is a song by post-hardcore band The Fall of Troy. It appears on the band's sophmore album Doppelgänger. The song is also the first single from the band to be released with a video.
The song is considered The Fall of Troy's most popular, and it can be heard everywhere from public radio to the soundtrack to the Xbox 360 game Saint's Row.
[edit] Remaking F.C.P.S.I.T.S.G.E.P.G.E.P.G.E.P.
The song is actually a remake of the song F.C.P.S.I.T.S.G.E.P.G.E.P., a song from their first self-titled LP, The Fall of Troy. In the rerecorded version, the song is sped up, and the parts played by Tim Ward (bassist) and Thomas Erak (guitar, vocals) are heavily edited. Instead of Tim playing the melody, Thom plays the melody, and Tim provides a harmonizing bassline.
Also changed in the song is the tempo. The song is faster and more upbeat, yet retains the same length on the recording as the original. It also loses it's loud choir-like chorus. In it's place, Tim screams in the background.
[edit] Song Name
The song's name is actually a shorted version of "F.C.P.S.I.T.S.G.E.P.G.E.P.G.E.P.", getting rid of everything after "F.C.P." but with the addition of "R.E.M.I.X." to imply that it is a heavily edited remake of the song, and not the same like the other rerecorded songs on Doppelgänger.
The meaning of the original has been heavily debated. Many have made up meanings for it, but the most accepted (and confirmed by the band) explanation is "Fuck Condoms, Premarital Sex is the Shit! Get 'Em Pregnant, Get 'Em Pregnant, Get 'Em Pregnant!"
