[edit] Help
I saw that you had placed {{helpme}} on your userpage. Do you need help? Bjelleklang - talk 18:17, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
Yes, I'm rather confused as to the copyright procedures and proper conduct for copying and using images in the Wikipedian Commons, I have an article I have created on the Masonic Children's Home of GA. You seem to be a veteran here, can you check my use of images and tell me if I've done it correctly? I would hate for it to be deleted, or reverted

- You need to add the source of the image, and the license. If you have permission to use the image, this should be stated on the image page as well. If there's anything else I can help you with, feel free to ask! Bjelleklang - talk 19:01, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
- The license part im confused about can you explain that to me? f1r3r41n 21:34, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

- There is a list of licences when you upload an image. If you have created yourself "GFDL" is the standard licence. If it comes from another source, you can see whether it falls in one of the categories. Public Domain is always fine, but copyright material is only allowed if it meets with Fair Use (WP:Fair use) like Logos, Covers etc. Dr Debug (Talk) 13:18, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

- So if you have taken the picture yourself, say so in the text and put down {{GFDL}}. Otherwise specify the source and the conditions under which it was released. Some photos are Common Creative, but in general they are copyrighted and are not fair use. Dr Debug (Talk) 13:26, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
- And here is a list to help you decide.--Ali K 13:28, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
- About the licenses: Basically, there are no definite answer I can give as to what license you should use. The best would be to look at the list of image licenses. If you have taken an image yourself, you can use {{GFDL-self}}, if someone else took the image, and you have permission, or if any of the non-free licenses apply. Hope this helps, if not, let me know! Bjelleklang - talk 15:42, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

About the search: Search is an index which has to be updated first, so it doesn't show immediately, since it is not indexed yet. It's like google which takes a couple of days as well. Dr Debug (Talk) 13:33, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

- Wikipedia isn't designed for contact information or advertising. See WP:NOT. For example, for the article for Yankees Stadium doesn't contain a telephone number or email address. Thanks. --Madchester 01:57, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

- I'm curious about what you were originally planning to do. I haven't really looked at what article(s) you've been working on. There may be ways to work within the guidelines, with say, an external website link, for example. --Madchester 05:19, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

- The college that i attend requires the building of our own wiki for our english courses, and, since i have a better background in wiki markup than most of my peers i wanted to provide them a better avenue to contact me at than my user page at the wiki there. you can check out our project here.f1r3r41n 13:12, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
