Ezra Hospital

The Ezra Hospital is a part of Medical College Calcutta.

The Ezra Hospital was built through the munificence of Mrs E.D.J. Ezra. It was inaugurated in 1887 but patients were admitted from 9th April, 1888. This was meant for the Jewish population of Calcutta. But with the dwindling number of Jews in the city, the indoor beds of Chest & Otorhinolaryngology Deptts are being accommodated in the Ezra Hospital at present.

  • Apex Referral Centre, the outdoor department where HIV and AIDS patients are referred from all over West Bengal.
