Ezmlm
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ezmlm is a software package for managing electronic mailing lists by Daniel J. Bernstein. It is similar to GNU Mailman and Majordomo. It only works with the Qmail mail transfer agent. It is license-free software, which causes many free software distributions to refuse to ship it.
Ezmlm does not require a webinterface to work, although software has been written in order for one to do this (http://rucus.ru.ac.za/~guy/ezmlm/).
Ezmlm works very fast since it makes use of data-base type files, while other mailing list managers just use flat ascii files. Ezmlm also has a very good security record.
The latest version, 0.53, came out in 1997. The Ezmlm-idx patches add modern features like MIME handling.
Enemies of Carlotta is a very similar mailing list software by user interface which is not license-free software, but under GNU GPL and written in Python.
