Talk:Extremely Reliable Operating System

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Oh thats sad. Some of my favorite research papers were based on Eros. RIP. I hate how cool grad projects just loose the drive, loose the initiative over time. Its sad. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.250.120.197 (talk • contribs) 04:50, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

Not to worry. The reports of our demise were exaggerated. EROS has two successor systems, both of which look like they will see real commercial use. The Strawberry Group (Charlie Landau et al.) is building on the EROS work under the name CapROS (see [1]). The other successor is Coyotos (see [2]), which is correcting some of the architectural deficiencies that we found in EROS. --shap 03:36, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
