Myst III: Exile - The Soundtrack is an album containing music from the third installment in the popular Myst video game series. After composing the music for the first two installments (Myst and Riven), Robyn Miller left the Cyan production company, which then handed the composition duties for Myst III: Exile to Jack Wall. Due to switching composers, the musical style and instrumentation changed considerably from the first two games. While Miller had exclusively used synthesizers to create mostly ambient environments, Wall made use of a live orchestra and vocalists. "Atrus' Study" references the character Atrus from the previous games, while the main character theme for this soundtrack centers around a new person named Saavedro. The themes for Amateria, Edanna, and Voltaic refer to the Ages (locations) of the same names in the game. The last track, "Exile", is a song containing lyrics, sung by Cindy Wall.
