Excuses For Bad Behavior (Part Two) is the followup album released by singer/author/comedienne/actress Sandra Bernhard. The album, unlike the original is a combination of spoken comedy bits, comedic songs, and pop/country/rock music. The difference between the two is the new country-esque side of Bernhard. It is currently unknown if Bernhard has plans to released a followup to this album.

[edit] Early production

Bernhard announced in 1995 that she had no interest in making a (Part 2), despite the title of (Part 1).[1] However, Bernhard had begun work on the second album as early as 1998.[2]" And stating how eager she was to release a followup. However with other things in her schedule, production was halted. Further work on the album did not begin until 2003.[3] A close friend of Bernhard, Anna Faris (Scary Movie) contributed to the album.[4] Though many fans were not fond of the work Faris contributed.[5]

[edit] The political influences

The album has a heavy politcal influence, that Bernhard stated is due to 9/11. Most of the influence was also caused by The Dixie Chicks.[6]What made this album so successful was her response to the Dixie Chicks statement they made prior to the War In Iraq in 2003.

[edit] Critical response

There was an incredible positive response to the album, including many fans calling this her best work ever.[7] The album has been more successful than the original album.[8] Though as far back as ten years ago (1994), some were said that a followup album to the original were become an instant commercial flop.[9] Berhard however, obviously proved them wrong with the album exceeding sales beyond her expecation. But not all fans agreed the album was her best work. Some even went as far as saying that this is nothing like the original, and we had waited so long for this?.[10]

The LGBT community approved of the album and show, encouraging those to both see the show and at least listen to the album.[11] Gay City News went as far as recommending the show for Bernhard's New Years Eve 2004 performance. [12]

Because of Bernhard's words in The Dixie Chicks, where she sings: "The Dixie Chicks were wrong, then right. I can't comprehend what is true. You tell me something, then take it back. Why the hell do you support Iraq?". The Dixie Chicks spoke with Bernhard in July 2005, saying Your words really made us think about our apology.. [13] This of course would later help the Dixie Chicks out with their album Taking the Long Way, in 2006.
