EX Unseen Forces is the tenth set in the Pokémon Trading Card Game released by Pokémon USA. It is set in Johto, and is the first set by Pokémon USA to mainly consist of Pokémon from the Pokémon Gold and Silver games, released in 2001. The set's official symbol is a black silhouette of Ho-Oh's wing, superimposed on a white silhouette of Lugia's wing.

This is the largest set released by Pokémon USA since 2003. The set itself has 115 cards, but the inclusion of a box topper card and a secret card, as well as a 28-card subset, increases the set size to 145.

[edit] Types of Pokémon in EX Unseen Forces

[edit] Pokémon-ex

Pokémon-ex are incredibly powerful. Their HP are usually far above that of their regular form, and they are much stronger. On occasions, some Pokémon-ex, such as Steelix ex, have two Resistances, and some have no Weakness. Some, however, such as Gengar ex, have two Weaknesses, putting them at a disadvantage. Another disadvantage of Pokémon-ex is that when Knocked Out, the player who has done so must take two Prize cards instead of the usual one.

[edit] Pokémon-*

Pokémon-* tend to be fairly similar to Pokémon-ex in that their HP are sometimes elevated and they can sometimes be stronger than their regular counterparts. However, this is not as regular in Pokémon-* as it is in Pokémon-ex. Pokémon-* usually appear in sets in groups of three; for example, Mudkip, Treecko and Torchic and Regirock, Regice and Registeel. Only one Pokémon-* may be put in a deck, regardless of whether it is a 30-card deck or a 60-card deck.

[edit] Unown

One very curious Pokémon in this set is Unown. Each of Unown's 28 different discovered forms are represented within one set in the card game for the first time in EX Unseen Forces. Because there are so many different forms, each Unown is counted separately from the other cards in the official EX Unseen Forces set list. Additionally, instead of being assigned a set number, Unown has a letter or punctuation mark that corresponds to what that Unown represents. For example, instead of 3/28, Unown C is C/28. This is because every card is called Unown; the form is shown in the set letter.
