EX Power Keepers is the sixteenth Pokémon Trading Card Game set released by Pokémon USA. It also the first set since Legendary Collection to be released only outside of Japan, and the first since EX Unseen Forces not to include Delta Species Pokémon. The set is very loosely based on the Hoenn Elite Four, as all four members (Drake, Glacia, Phoebe and Sidney) have their own Stadium cards. The set also consists of several reprints of cards from older sets, and is the last third-generation set.

[edit] Types of Pokémon
[edit] Pokémon-ex
EX Power Keepers marks the last appearance of Pokémon-ex. Pokémon-ex are incredibly powerful. Their HP are usually far above that of their regular form, and they are much stronger. On occasions, some Pokémon-ex, such as Altaria ex, have two Resistances, and some have no Weakness (such as Dragonite ex). Some, however, have two Weaknesses, putting them at a disadvantage. Another disadvantage of Pokémon-ex is that when Knocked Out, the player who has done so must take two Prize cards instead of the usual one. Two of the confirmed Pokémon-ex in the set are Absol and Metagross.
[edit] Pokémon-*
EX Power Keepers marks the last appearance of Pokémon-*. Pokémon-* tend to be fairly similar to Pokémon-ex in that their HP are sometimes elevated and they can sometimes be stronger than their regular counterparts. However, this is not as regular in Pokémon-* as it is in Pokémon-ex. Pokémon-* usually appear in sets in groups of three; for example, Mudkip, Treecko and Torchic and Regirock, Regice and Registeel. Only one Pokémon-* may be put in a deck, regardless of whether it is a 30-card deck or a 60-card deck. The group in this set is Flareon, Jolteon and Vaporeon.
[edit] New Stadium Cards
The set is based loosely on the Hoenn Elite Four as seen in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. Each Elite has their own Stadium card - Sidney's Stadium and Phoebe's Stadium are two cards that have been confirmed so far, and it is very likely that Drake's Stadium and Glacia's Stadium are also in the set.
These four Stadium cards bring strengths to the type of Pokémon the Elite Four member uses. Phoebe's Stadium, for example, allows Psychic-type Pokémon to retret to the bench for a smaller retreat cost - she uses Ghost-type Pokémon, presented in the TCG as Psychic-types. Sidney uses Dark-type Pokémon, and Sidney's Stadium prevents any Darkness-type Pokémon in play from being Asleep, Confused or Paralyzed.
Some of the new cards in the set can also use these new Stadium cards to an advantage. Cacturne's Poké-Power allows the player to affect the Defending Pokémon with the Poison condition if Sidney's Stadium is in play.
[edit] World Championships
[edit] Worlds 2007
The set will be a legal set in World 2007, which is EX Deoxys onwards.
