[edit] Types of Pokémon in EX Holon Phantoms
[edit] Pokémon-ex
Pokémon-ex are incredibly powerful. Their HP are usually far above that of their regular form, and they are much stronger. On occasions, some Pokémon-ex, such as Steelix ex, have two Resistances, and some have no Weakness. Some, however, such as Gengar ex, have two Weaknesses, putting them at a disadvantage. Another disadvantage of Pokémon-ex is that when Knocked Out, the player who has done so must take two Prize cards instead of the usual one.
[edit] Pokémon-*
Pokémon-* tend to be fairly similar to Pokémon-ex in that their HP are sometimes elevated and they can sometimes be stronger than their regular counterparts. However, this is not as regular in Pokémon-* as it is in Pokémon-ex. Pokémon-* usually appear in sets in groups of three; for example, Mudkip, Treecko and Torchic and Regirock, Regice and Registeel. Only one Pokémon-* may be put in a deck, regardless of whether it is a 30-card deck or a 60-card deck.
[edit] Delta Species Pokémon
Delta Species Pokémon are Pokémon that have had their genes modified, causing a disturbance in their regular pattern - as well as their natural types and weaknesses. For example, in this set, Gyarados, normally a Water-type, is a Lightning-type. Its weakness remains the same - Lightning-type - though this is not the case with some Delta Species Pokémon, such as Latias, who has a weakness to Colorless-type Pokémon. Latias also has the rare state of having two resistances.
[edit] Holon's Pokémon
Holon's Pokémon are not genetically modified, but are special Pokémon cards that can double as Special Energy cards - either one Colorless energy, or two of any energy (often referred to as two Rainbow energy). The only Holon's Pokémon in this set is Holon's Castform, which doubles as two of any energy. Once a Holon's Pokémon is in play, its style of play cannot be changed - if it has been played as a Pokémon, it cannot be changed to an Energy card, and vice versa.
[edit] Fossil Pokémon
Root Fossil (Lileep), Claw Fossil (Anorith), and Mysterious Fossil (Aerodactyl, Omanyte, Kabuto) return. Lileep, Cradily, Anorith, Armaldo, Aerodactyl, Omanyte, Omastar, Kabuto and Kabutops all appear as Delta Species Pokémon.
