Eviscerate AD
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Eviscerate AD was a hardcore punk/metalcore band from Peterborough, United Kingdom. The band formed in 2001 as Eviscerate and added the "AD" on discovering the existence of an American band of the same name (see Eviscerate).
Playing shows in and around East Anglia, Eviscerate AD soon achieved a name for themselves. Their debut MCD ‘Man Made Evil’ (released on Bloodstorm Recordings) sold out within a few months and gained good reviews all over the UK in magazines such as Kerrang!, Metal Hammer and Fracture. Within the first year Eviscerate AD had played shows with the likes of Extreme Noise Terror, Hundred Reasons, Defenestration and Burden and had undergone their first ever mini UK tour with hardcore stalwarts Underule.
Eviscerate AD had a track included on the cover mount CD of the UK’s leading extreme metal magazine Terrorizer. Towards the end of 2001 things began to change for EvAD the Demo tape "The Layment Configuration" was released (self release) and sold out very quickly. This showed a different side musically to EvAD, it was progressing more into the direction they have adopted today. The hard work had only begun, their old drummer was replaced with current Drummer Den and the six piece went into the studio to record songs for the 4 way split ‘Escalating Unholy Way’ (released on Unity Worldwide Records which also features Freebase, Set Against and Diction) where they created such mosh pit anthems as ‘Masquerade of Truth’ and ‘Reasons for a beating’.
That year saw them play a huge number of gigs practically covering the entire UK with the likes of Knuckledust, 50 CALIBER, Krutch, IRATE, ARCH ENEMY, LIAR, CALIBAN, BORN FROM PAIN, FREEBASE and many more. There was a 14 date UK tour in the summer of 2002, a mini tour in November 2002 with LIAR and a mini tour of Holland with AMONG THE LIVING in December of 2002 all of them where in support of the ‘Escalating Unholy War’ CD. In 2003, they had many shows, including their own headlining slots and two tours of Belgium (with DEAD END LOVE(April 2003) and BROKEN OATH(sept 2003) and the UK (5 date mini tour with Belgian legends Arkangel - May 2003 and Four-dates with DAY OF CONTEMPT(from Australia) - Sep 2003). In September 2003, Eviscerate AD released a Split CD with Glasgow heath weights BROKEN OATH, out on label: Unity Worldwide Recordings; the new material showcases a harder, faster and focused Eviscerate AD, and has got some great reviews from the press already!
Eviscerate AD played a hand full of shows in early 2004, before the band called it quits.
