Evian Masters
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Evian Masters is a women's professional golf tournament which is played in Évian-les-Bains, France each July. Founded in 1994, it is recognised as a major by the Ladies European Tour. It is not classified as a major by the LPGA Tour, but it has been part of the LPGA Tour's schedule since 2000. It is played the week before the Women's British Open, which is a major on both tours, which makes it convenient for U.S. based players to participate. The 2005 prize fund was $2.5 million, which was the second largest in women's golf that year after the U.S. Women's Open, and in 2006 it was $3 million.
The next tournament will be held from July 25 through July 28, 2007.
