EViews is a statistical package for Windows, used mainly for econometric analysis. It is developed by Quantitative Micro Software (QMS). Version 1.0 was released in march 1994, and replaced the older MicroTSP software. The current version of EViews is 5.1.
EViews combines spreadsheet and relational database technology with the traditional tasks found in statistical software, and uses a point-and-click GUI. This is combined with a powerful programming language.
EViews can be used for general statistical analysis, but it is especially useful for econometric analyses, such as cross-section and panel data analysis and time series estimation and forecasting. It supports file formats from Excel, SPSS, SAS, Stata, RATS, and TSP, and access to ODBC Databases.
