The story is centered around the Batiste family in 1962 Louisiana. The father of family is a charismatic doctor named Louis. Louis is married to Roz but still has an unwavering desire toward attractive female patients of his and has a philandering nature. His sexual encounter with married woman Matty is caught by his young daughter Eve who is pained by what she sees...and tells her sister. This moment triggers the rest of the story of deception, sex, and family.
