Evangelos Venizelos

Evangelos Venizelos (Greek Ευάγγελος Βενιζέλος, born Thessaloniki 1957) was the previous Greek Minister for Culture. He is a member of the Greek Parliament for the Panhellenic Socialist Movement; elected in the region of Thessaloniki. In private life, he was an attorney, professor and constitutional scholar.

He holds a BA(1978) from the Law School of the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki and a PhD(1980) from the University of Paris II-Sorbonne.

Despite the shared last name and initials, Evangelos bears no relation to the famous early twentieth-century Greek politician, Eleftherios Venizelos.
