Eureka! (museum)

Eureka! (full title Eureka! The museum for children) is an interactive educational museum for children in Halifax, West Yorkshire, England. It is run as an educational charity and not-for-profit organisation.

It is located on former British Rail land next to Halifax railway station. The museum was partly inspired by Prince Charles and continues to receive his support.

There are six galleries.

The main galleries are:

  • Me and My Body in which children find out more about themselves and discover how the body and the senses work.
  • Living and Working Together where children discover the mysteries of daily life and try out some grown-up jobs.
  • Our Global Garden where children are transported from the familiar 'backyard' to amazing gardens around the world.
  • SoundSpace where children can explore the science behind sound, music and performance through state-of-the-art technology.

For under-5s there are also:

  • SoundGarden a sensory sound gallery.
  • Desert Discovery a desert themed experience.

...and a Pre-School Classroom.
