Talk:Ethiopian Orthodox Tehadeso Church
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Let me preface this by saying it is not my intent to offend the members of this or any other faith. I will say, however, there are some things in the article (or rather, not in the article) that don't make sense for me, but I think ultimately the article needs to address them (citing sources, if possible). How is the Tehadeso church actually Orthodox? It seems that the miaphysitism issue is what created Oriental Orthodoxy in the first place — does the Tehadeso church still subscribe to miaphysitism, as well? Also at what point does the Tehadeso church split away from the rest of Oriental Orthodoxy in terms of the line of Apostolic Succession, or do they still hold the Tewahedo church's Patriarch as their own? It seems to me to be more of a syncretism between the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church and Pentecostalism, and perhaps "Orthodox" in name only, but this is conjecture on my part. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 03:21, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
This is not my area so we should all wait until people that know more about this article can improve it for us. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 141.149.49.124 (talk • contribs) 21:48, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
I added an "unreferenced" tag to this article a while back. As of this writing, a Google search only returns the Wikipedia articles (or mirrors), or message boards wherein Tewahedo followers accuse the Tehadeso of entryism. I'd imagined that by this point, a Google search might turn up an actual news article. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 01:01, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
