It consists of seven new clauses:
- 100BASE-LX10 —
- 100BASE-BX10 —
- 1000BASE-LX10 —
- 1000BASE-BX10 —
- 1000BASE-PX10 —
- 1000BASE-PX20 —
- 10PASS-TS —
- 2BASE-TL — Allow for full duplex 2 MBit/sec of twisted pair copper wires up to a distance of 2700m (8800 feet).
It was developed out working group 802.3ah and was voted to be part of the IEEE 802.3 in June 2004.
