Etherlords is a strategy based role playing game for the PC, released 11 December 2001 by Nival. It was followed two years later by a sequel, Etherlords 2. Nival has stated that a third game isn't out of the question, but so far nothing has been announced.

Etherlords has a lot in common with Magic: The Gathering. It is based on a magical Island which is divided by four tribes: Sinthets, Kinets, Chaots and Vitals, each with unique abilities. You play as one of the tribe's heroes. Fighting is based on magical cards. As you progress through the game you gain new cards and abilities.

Etherlords is also a lot like Heroes of Might and Magic, with a roaming map and different displays for fighting and castle functions.
