Ethan Leib

Ethan J. Leib is a professor at the University of California Hastings College of the Law and the author of Deliberative Democracy in America: A Proposal for a Popular Branch of Government.

Leib was born on September 15, 1975 and was raised in Riverdale, Bronx. He received his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. from Yale University, his J.D. from Yale Law School, and a M.Phil. from Cambridge University in England.

After graduating from law school, Professor Leib clerked for Chief Judge John M. Walker, Jr., of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Before arriving at Hastings, Professor Leib litigated at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, in New York City. Leib is currently a visiting professor at Brooklyn Law School.

Leib blogs at the law-professor blog (see[1]) called Prawfsblawg. Leib has recently become a proud parent. One day he wore a clubbing outfit to his Contracts class at Hastings College of the Law. In addition, he can often be found wearing jeans to class.
