Esther Goldberg

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Esther Goldberg (sometimes spelled "Ester") is a drag persona created and portrayed by Michael Airington. As a fictional character she is a widowed star of radio, cabaret and nightclubs as well as a former make-up artist, gossip columnist and music maven. She is portrayed as a gossipy, scandalous Jewish-American princess with gigantic red hair and rhinestone glasses.

The character is based out of Washington, D.C. where she hosts a variety of shows including "The Feud", "Scream, Lose or Draw" and the Las Vegas Styled "The Big Show." She came into the national spotlight when a rival nightclub and drag persona, Lena Lett, began hosting a game show not dissimilar to The Feud (at the time called "The Feygela Feud".) A major lawsuit erupted and was eventually brought to the courts. In the end it was settled with Airington winning a payout and Jr's purchasing the Feygele Feud name. Airington now calls his show "The Feud". Jr's Feygela Feud was cancelled shortly thereafter due to poor attendance.
