From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Estadio Morelos is named in honour of one of the most important Mexican War of Independence leader: José María Morelos y Pavón. This is one of the Mexicos mid-sized soccer stadiums having capacity for 38,384 seats and was built in 1989, is located in the city of Morelia, Michoacán. This sport facility is used mostly for soccer games and is the home of CA Monarcas Morelia. An oddity that distinguish it from other stadiums is that it was built at the foot of mountain named Cerro del Quinceo.
