[edit] October 7, 2005 Advisory Committee Elections

[edit] Dates

Elections for the Esperanza Advisory Committee will begin at 12:00 UTC on October 7, 2005. They will continue until October 13, 2005 at 11:59 UTC. Any votes before or after that time will be discounted.

All candidates for the election should list themselves at here by 12:00 UTC on October 6, 2005.

[edit] Voting Method

The voting method will be as follows:

Every candidate will be listed on Wikipedia:Esperanza/2005 Advisory Committee Elections. Each Esperanzian will be able to vote for every candidate they support. There will be a limit of one vote per candidate (i.e., you can't vote sixty times for User:Foo), but each Esperanzian will have the ability to vote for every candidate if they so choose. The four candidates with the highest number of votes will serve as follows:

The two candidates with the most votes will serve until February 28th (Unless they choose to be in tranche B) and the two with the 3rd and 4th place votes will serve until December 31st. The admin general's term will end December 31st, every year. Thus, my (Essjay) term will end December 31, 2005.

For clarification: Only members of Esperanza registered before the election begins will be able to vote in this election.

If there is a tie at any level, there will be a run-off between those candidates, on a one-vote-per-Esperanzian system. If there is a tie between the 2nd and 3rd place (i.e., the only issue to be decided is which tranche they will serve in) then either candidate may choose to serve in tranche b, or a run-off will be held.

As the Admin General, I will not vote in the election, but will instead supervise the election and certify the results. If any non-candidate would like to serve as a poll worker (i.e., monitor the page for voting irregularities) please leave me a message on my talk page.

The tranches for the advisory committee will be as such:

Tranche A ending dates:

• February 28th/29th
• June 30th
• October 31st (ineffective for 2005)

Tranche B ending dates:

• December 31st
• April 30th
• August 31st
