For those of you that don't know me I am active RC Patroling, adding users to VandalProof in my position as a VP moderator, and a new page patroller. More importantly I am a member of the Mediation Committee, and from my work there, I feel that there is one key area that Esperenza could 'brach out' into. Our members should be able to help promote civility in all their actions, but not only that Espereranza should look to help new editors learn how to use and understand the key Wikipedia policies (from WP:V to WP:NOR, to WP:BOLD). So I see basic training programmes as a way in which Esperenza could branch out, following on from the suceess and populartiy of the admin coaching. So as a community organisation we should look to reinforce the strenght of this community by helping newcomers learn about the Wikipedia Community. So training programmes could be developed not only in basic editing (of which there are already ample tutorials etc.) but in topics containing discussions about how different processes on Wikipedia work, and how policy has been interpretated and how it should be understood (which could help to alleviate a number of the problems that reach the medaition committee, where often problems are caused by a simple lack of understanding of what can be complex policies and guidelines).
I hope that I could help in some way to making this organisation grow and flourish, and I hope that you'll agree with me and vote for me. If there are any questions you have regarding my views related to Esperanza or Wikipedia in general then please leave a message on my talk page or drop me an e-mail. --Wisden17 23:18, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
