[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Carchman.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Carchman.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 11:07, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the reminder, "mister roboto". Lazy mistake, sorry (look at me, I'm talking to a digital robot). It's fixed now.

[edit] Toraja Review

Thanks for reviewing Toraja. I will remember your notes, but you can't grab GA because of lack of images and further references ;-). Don't worry, I will update that information as soon as I get it. Again, thanks. — Indon (reply) — 11:20, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi Esoltas, sorry to ask you again. Could you please point me in what category that Toraja is placed in WP:GA? Thanks. — Indon (reply) — 11:53, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

Well, I saw that Toraja is in Culture and Society, under Peoples, and it's perfect, because it is about people and its culture. I'd to search WP:GA, because they are all hidden. And about the "can't grab GA" statement, that's from your review in Toraja. You said, "Don't make me come back and take your GA away, please fix these quickly." Okay, bye and cheers. ;-) — Indon (reply) — 05:15, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] New Jersey State Constitution

If you look at the end of the tag that is added on the image page it is written :

“
Please add a detailed fair use rationale as described on Wikipedia:Image description page, as well as the source of the image, the photographer, and copyright information. Additionally, if the copyright holder has granted permission, please provide further details as to the terms.

”

And this means what I was telling you on the talk page, please add a fair use rationale for its individual use on the article page. You can take a look at the image Image:The K-Foundation Burn a Million Quid.jpg and copy the whole rationale and modify it for its use on your image page.

Also, this article is ready to pass and just answering my questions or refuting any of my claims are already good in order to achieve GA status. Lincher 02:59, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

  • I just wanted to let you know that ClairSamoht has left Wikipedia - saw your post on his Talk page. Ruhrfisch 14:19, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Question about R.P. Resor picture

Dear Esoltas:

Hello. I'm writing a book about famous crimes and disasters in New Jersey and found your article about the Resor, along with the picture. Can you tell me what your source was for the public-domain photo? I'd love to obtain a copy of it myself -- if you can help me, I'll be glad to give you a credit in the book. E-mail me at knotso -at-- aol.com. Thanks!$trategery 00:17, 24 October 2006 (UTC)$trategery

[edit] A nice cup of tea and a sit down

Hi! I'm sorry that I wasn't able to come to this discusion earlier, but I was taking a holiday and didn't even know I had a message (although having just joined your project I had a fair idea that I might). Anyway, I'm here now, so lets get started! Blood red sandman 09:38, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hello there

I saw you were behind the successful GA nomination for Toraja. Perhaps - if of course you have time - you might consider providing an informal appraisal of Indonesia. A group of us have been working to ultimately get it to FA. An article on Indonesia should be FA quality. As you can see, it is not the article it was 2 months ago. Are you in a position to give us feedback on its potential for GA status? If not, that is fine. Just let me know. Another reviewer has looked at it in recent months and provided useful feedback, but of course, we'd like to get a range of opinion. regards --Merbabu 01:31, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Hey thanks for the message, we will try to improve it. But probably you sent the wrong message (maybe). Shouldn't you send it to Merbabu? Hehe, sorry if I am wrong. Cheers -- Imoeng 22:34, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Batavia(ship)

Thanks for the label on the talk page - the status is disputed - both the wreck and aftermath are major issues in West Australian history and culture - (the number of books - and an opera...) so I'll put it there - but I'd thought I'd let you know SatuSuro 23:57, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

And looking closser - I have joined up the project - how come its within your user space and not "out there" in wiki land? Cheers SatuSuro 00:03, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for your answer and help with the batavia article - it has a long way to go - so thanks! SatuSuro 13:20, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
And I am very impressed by talk box and appropriated it! SatuSuro 13:28, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] NJ Constitution peer review

Very good work on the NJ Constitution article. I've made some edits and some comments on the Discussion page. I'm not sure if it qualifies as a FA, given its length lies at the border between GA and FA. With some copyediting and some expansion of the Criticism section, it could probably make FA.

On a related topic, I've also submitted a peer-review request for the 1997 Constitution of Thailand article. I've approached the topic using a different structure than you did, but given your good work on the NJ article, your comments would be greatly appreciated. Patiwat 01:06, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:US landings on Kiska.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:US landings on Kiska.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 23:11, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
