Esme Melville (1918 - 14 September 2006) was a veteran Australian actress, whose credits included roles in Prisoner, Blue Heelers, and Neighbours in which she played many recurring roles, with her last role being the hard-of-hearing Rose Belker. Other roles include Serita in Waiting in the Wings, Mrs Grey in The Secretary Bird and Mrs. Bedwin in Oliver. Melville also acted in the 2002 feature film Crackerjack, as well as Dalkeith and Siam Sunset. [1]

On 29 September 2006 the Herald Sun newspaper reported the Melville had died on 14 September 2006 after "a short illness".
