[edit] Boundaries

The constituency is a small area in the north of Surrey, bordering Greater London. Towns in the constituency include Esher and Walton-on-Thames, which give it its name. It shares similar borders to that of Elmbridge district.

The Boundary Commission has proposed no boundary changes for this constituency in the boundary review due before the next election.

[edit] History

The constituency of Esher was created due to boundary changes in time for the 1950 general election. In 1997 the name was changed to its current form, Esher and Walton. A very prosperous and affluent seat,it has nonetheless been swinging quite usefully in the Lib Dems favour since 1997.
