Escobar (planet)

Escobar is a planet in the science fiction series The Vorkosigan Saga. The planet is the link between Sergyar and Beta Colony although it probably has additional wormhole jumps. Escobar seems to have been founded by largely Hispanic, Spanish, or Italian colonists, and appears to be wealthy, highly advanced world, with sophisticated medical and bio-engineering technologies. Escobarans have Spanish-sounding names, but the name of the Escobaran security service mentioned in the Vorkosigan series suggests that the local language is an amalgam of Romance languages.
