ESAME is an obsolete acronym meaning Enterprise Systems Architecture Modal Extensions. ESAME is now known as z/Architecture, IBM's 64-bit enterprise computing platform for its top-of-the-line servers.

IBM first implemented z/Architecture in the zSeries Model 900, introduced in 2000.
